Meet Jane Toothaker – A Lifetime Advocate for Education and Community

With a 45-year career in education, I bring a lifetime of experience, compassion, and commitment to the Steamboat Springs School Board. As a teacher, administrator, mentor, and advocate, I have dedicated my life to helping students, educators, and communities thrive through cooperation and collaboration.

A proud mother of three and loving grandmother, I understand firsthand the hopes and challenges families face in our schools. Through thoughtful and inclusive leadership I have worked to inspire countless nonprofit and education leaders throughout the region.

I strive to listen, learn and  lead with integrity. My career has been dedicated to bringing educators and communities together by putting students and their needs first.  As a school board member, I will champion excellence and equity in education, ensuring every student in our district has the opportunity to succeed.

Steamboat deserves a school board leader who knows education, values community, and leads with both wisdom and warmth. I am that leader.!

  • Serve diverse populations by recognizing the unique experiences of each student and  tailoring support to ensure equitable access to education.
  • Attract and retain high-quality  teaching staff by addressing challenges like affordable housing and  supporting the talented educators our students deserve.
  • Protect school funding by advocating at the state and local level for stable  investment and ensuring responsible stewardship of resources..
